It’s common knowledge that in 21st century everyone tries to get as best education as it is possible. To begin with, knowing foreign languages broadens one’s outlook and develops mentality. The more languages we know the more intelligent we are. Furthermore, you can study or work abroad not facing the language barrier. We can travel abroad and communicate with other people easily witch gives us great satisfaction. As a result, you have better employment or learning opportunities abroad. To sum up, there are lot of reasons why people should learn foreign languages.
First of all, nowadays pupils are learning English because some of them want to have further education in foreign countries, for example in England. It’s like some kind of prestige because a diploma or qualification opens doors to the best jobs in Britain or in other countries. In other words, public opinion thinks that finishing a foreign school or university can be even more challenging than finishing a simple state school. It would be interesting to note, that British and Lithuania education systems have lots of in common and in Lithuania you probably are able to get even better education. In both countries compulsory education lasts until the age of 16. Pupils can leave school having finished the tenth form. These pupils usually go to vocational junior colleges. The Curriculum is the group of subjects such as colloquial, mathematics, history and of special interests are science and foreign languages. It should be added, that in both countries students have to pass exams at the age of 16. In Britain it’s called GCSEs. If you want to have a higher education you can study at university. Students are able to receive grants from the government or take a loan.
