The first time I heart about Elton John in 1997. Then he sang Candle In The Wind 1997 at Princess Diana’s funeral. I was very impressed by this song. Since this time I started to listen his music more.
I have the CD of Elton Johns’ songs (it’s the one CD of music, witch I have). I enjoy listening his songs and especially I like the songs from The Lion King.
Now I want to know something more about Elton John life:
A man who changes his name from Reginald Kenneth Dwight to Elton Hercules John cannot be anything but a showman.
Elton John (or Reginald Kenneth Dwight) was born on March 25 1947 in Pinner, Middlesex, England.
Elton was an excellent piano player at a young age. His mother remembers: “He started banging away at the piano when he was a 3. When he was 4 he used to put him to bed in the day and get him up to play at night for parties”. He won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music when he was 11, he attended until he was 15. When Elton was 13, he wanted to be just like Buddy Holly, so much in fact that he even copied his look, by wearing glasses even though his vision was perfect. But after a year or two he had ruined his vision and then actually needed glasses.
In 1960, Elton and his friends formed a band called the Corvettes, it eventually evolved into Bluesology. Elton had a plethora of jobs: he ran errands for a London publishing house, played piano in a hotel, and re-recorded cover versions of pop singles to be sold in supermarkets. In 1967 Elton quit Bluesology and teamed up with lyricist Bernie Taupin, with whom he had some of the biggest hits of his career. They met after both being turned down for a job at Liberty Records. Elton named himself Elton Hercules John after his friend Elton Dean and Long John Baldry.
